Sermon: Abundant Stewardship of Time | Pastor Ben Berteau | Seventh Sunday of Easter

Using analogies like "boxes on shelves" for men's brains and "a bowl of spaghetti" for women's brains, this week’s sermon opens with an illustration of the differences in their thought processes. In premarital counseling sessions, Pastor Ben explained that he has the joy of meeting with couples in love but has found that the sessions often involve helping the couple navigate the challenges faced in understanding each other's unique perspectives.

Transitioning to the topic of stewardship of time, he reflects on the Ascension of Jesus and its significance in relation to time and eternity, stressing the finite nature of time and the importance of prioritizing values and faith in time management. Pastor Ben highlights the need to recognize the limitations of time while acknowledging God's abundance and the eternal life already won through Jesus.

However, rather than viewing time as a scarce resource to be squeezed for more religious activities, Pastor Ben advocates for an abundant perspective where every moment is an opportunity to live out one's faith. We are encouraged to use our individual gifts and talents to serve others, glorifying God in every aspect of life. Ultimately, stewardship of time is a balance between self-reflection and action, grounded in the assurance of God's grace and presence.
