Sermon: The Family Meal Forever | Pastor Ben Berteau | The Fifth Sunday After Pentecost

In our third & final installment of the "Water & Wine" sermon series, Pastor Ben draws parallels between Doritos vs. healthier alternatives and the Biblical story of a woman seeking healing from Jesus to highlight the need for both physical and spiritual sustenance. He goes on to emphasize the importance of recognizing and addressing spiritual needs, particularly through the sacrament of communion, where believers encounter Jesus' presence and receive forgiveness and a strengthening of their faith. We should be echoing Peter's affirmation that Jesus alone offers eternal life, but as human beings we tend to look for other avenues to solve challenges, instead of coming directly to God. However, we need to make the Lord's Supper the center of our spiritual practice, and we need to come here to the only place that can provide with what we need to navigate life in this world. Echoing the words of Peter, where else are we going to go? God wants us to come to him and look for him, and he's promised that when you do every single time, he'll be present to be with us and sustain us.
